Justice in Action invites you to join us for a powerful press conference on Thursday, November 21st, at 11:00 a.m., at the City/County Building (575 S. 10th St.). This gathering aims to address the ongoing crisis of overcrowding at Lancaster County Jail, which has remained over capacity for over a year, impacting countless lives. With Thanksgiving approaching, Justice in Action will advocate for meaningful changes that will allow more families to reunite during the holiday season.
This event will feature a lineup of inspiring speakers, including local clergy and community leaders, as well as firsthand testimonies from individuals directly affected by the criminal justice system. Their stories will shed light on the urgent need for reform and the impact of jail overcrowding on individuals and families across Lancaster County.
We will also be making a direct appeal to the County Attorney, urging him to collaborate on expanding diversion programs to reduce overcrowding and prevent recidivism. To signify his commitment to reform, we’re asking him to RSVP “Yes” to the Nehemiah Action on May 1st, where community members will gather to further address these pressing issues.
Join us on November 21st to stand in solidarity with those affected by an overburdened justice system, to advocate for reform, and to push for real change that prioritizes family unity and community well-being!

Hello!
I wanted to invite you to a Justice in Action press conference on Thursday, Nov 21, at 11 a.m. at the City/County Building (575 S. 10th St.). We’re raising awareness about the overcrowding crisis at Lancaster County Jail, where most people are being held pre-trial, many simply because they can’t afford bail. With the holidays coming, we're pushing to help reunite more families—especially since so many held are facing non-violent charges.
We’ll have local clergy, community leaders, and personal stories from those impacted by the system. We’re also asking the County Attorney to support diversion programs to ease overcrowding and commit to joining us at the Nehemiah Action on May 1st.
Your support would mean a lot! Let me know if you can make it.
Thank you!

Purpose
I wanted to personally invite you to a press conference we’re holding with Justice in Action on Thursday, November 21, at 11 a.m. at the City/County Building (575 S. 10th St.). We’re raising awareness about the overcrowding problem at Lancaster County Jail, which has been over capacity for over a year now.
Details
Most of the people in Lancaster County Jail are awaiting trial and are often there just because they can’t afford bail—even when the charges are non-violent. With the holidays coming, we’re hoping to make a strong case for reuniting more families as soon as possible.
We’ll have local clergy, community leaders, and powerful stories from people who’ve been directly affected. Plus, we’ll be asking the County Attorney to support more diversion programs to ease the overcrowding and to join us at our Nehemiah Action on May 1st.
